AGILE ADAPTATION TO CHANGE

In order to maximize the achievement of sustainable operations, Barinto has established two specialized departments: the Mining Innovation and Digitalization Department (MID), which focuses on the digitalization of operational and production processes; and the ESG Department, which is dedicated to developing roadmaps and measurable performance indicators in the areas of environment, society, and corporate governance. Some of the applications that have been developed and used to support Barinto’s business processes include:

1. Digital Systems:

These systems simplify information transmission, troubleshooting, and decision-making processes, enhance security, and contribute to the implementation of best practices in mining operations. These applications support the analysis of geotechnical data, mine planning, blasting operations, and production processes. In addition, digital systems improve the monitoring capabilities of mining areas and optimize operational efficiency.

2. Human-Computer Interaction:

The Human Capital Information System (HCIS) can enhance the efficiency of employees’ attendance management, performance evaluation, and other human resources-related tasks. Thanks to its employee self-service features, this application ensures the use of an efficient and transparent digital management system.

The system is designed to improve the level of implementation of occupational safety and health measures within the company. Within one year, Batinto’s operational efficiency increased by 98%, its carbon dioxide emissions were reduced by 406.17 tons, and its fuel consumption was decreased by 144.25 liters.

3. Coal Chain:

The coal supply chain application provides accurate data throughout the entire coal production process, from the mine to the port. Thanks to its real-time monitoring capabilities, this application simplifies the monitoring process and enables fast, efficient data-driven decision-making.

4. Energy efficiency and cost savings:

Following the conduct of a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Kideco is utilizing alternative energy sources in its mining operations to enhance energy efficiency. In high-risk areas, the company has also innovatively adopted noise reduction systems, automated energy-saving technologies in high-load work units, micro-hydropower generation systems in sedimentation tanks, as well as special devices such as bottom cover rods used in blasting operations.

Through the Fuel Management System (FMS) and Vendor Inventory Management (VHS), Kideco has successfully reduced its consumption of B30 fuel, thereby optimizing and simplifying its fuel usage. In addition, the company has implemented other energy-saving measures, including the installation of solar panels in employee camps, the use of electric buses for employee transportation, and the adoption of biogas digesters in its integrated agricultural systems.
